Erica R. Nwachukwu is a Chicago native from the city’s Southside with a passion for the healing power of music. As an alum of the Choir Academy of the Chicago Children’s Choir, Erica knew early on that she found her tribe and would make a career in the arts.

After graduating from Millikin University with Bachelors of Arts in both Music (Voice) and Communications in 2015, Erica took a break from performing to go on to earn a Master of Business Administration. Since returning to Chicago in the summer of 2017, she has taken every opportunity to perform and collaborate in both the classical space and the contemporary world of music. Her most recent involvements include Chicago Freedom Singers, performing alongside Kathleen Battle, the SiAMsa Festival of Life, the MOSAIC Chorale, and the Damon Locks: Black Monument Ensemble. She’s also had the opportunity of recording with artists such Cassandra Wilson and ChanceTheRapper.

Erica is currently studying voice with Jonita Lattimore and plans to pursue a Master of Music in Voice Performance in the Fall of 2020. This will be Erica’s first operatic role since returning to the classical world of music.
